-- ABOUT US

Our Chamber has 2 principal missions :

Support strong economic relations between France and the United States
Promote the development of our member companies in the New York region

Role and missions

Our goal is to support strong economic relations between France and the U.S., and to promote the development of our member companies in the New York region. We achieve these objectives through a well-developed forum that facilitates information sharing, networking and professional development.

The FACC-NY disseminates information by way of its programs and seminars held at top New York venues. In the past, the FACC has discussed such pertinent topics as “U.S. Tax Issues for Foreign Nationals”, “International Financial Reporting Standards”, “New York Real Estate and Relocation”, and much more. We have held roundtable and panel discussions related to the Travel & Tourism, Wine & Spirits and Beauty and Skincare sectors as well as others..

Over the years, we have hosted a variety of high-level speakers including:

  • Christine Lagarde, French Minister of Foreign Trade
  • Jean-Claude Trichet, former Governor of the Banque de France
  • Clara Gaymard, French Ambassador for International Investment
  • Ambassador John Richardson, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to the United Nations
  • Daniel Doctoroff, Deputy Mayor of New York City
  • Kathryn Wylde, President & CEO, Partnership for New York City
  • Greg David, Editor of Crain's New York Business
  • Michael Mandel, Chief Economist of BusinessWeek

These events are an excellent forum for discussions on world affairs and the state of international business. In addition, the Chamber regularly holds social events including our annual Tennis Tournament and European Chambers of Commerce Spring Networking Event.

For more than 20 years, the FACC has honored French and American executives at our annual Person of the Year Award gala. These individuals are recognized for having made outstanding contributions to international business through personal endeavor and achievement, for recognizing the importance of international relationships, and for accepting the challenges and responsibilities of being a global player.

By way of our International Career Development Programs (ICDP), we enhance opportunities for young French and American professionals to acquire the skills and cultural savvy needed to excel in the global business marketplace.

Seminars, high-level speakers, networking opportunities and professional exchange all contribute to the Chamber's mission of supporting strong economic relations between France and the U.S. , and promoting the development of our member companies in the New York region.
