The Louisiana Chapter of the French American Chamber of Commerce
(FACC/LA) has its primary mission the facilitation of more French
investment in Louisiana and the promotion of bilateral trade. Major
French companies, such as Air Liquide, Sodexho Alliance, Rhodia,
AXA Advisors, Sckumberger Oilfield Services, and EADS Sogerma have
investments in Louisiana amounting to $1.8 Billion, ranking France
eighth among all investors in the state.
Louisiana offers business incentives and tax credits which are
competitive with our neighboring states. However, it is safe to
say that no other state in the US offers such a hospitable and enabling
environment for a French company as does Louisiana, with over 300
years of shared history, culture, and economic interaction.
The FACC/LA is empowered by both the french government and the
Government of the State of Louisiana actively to pursue specific
investment projects with French companies. In December 2001, the
FACC/LA signed a convention with the french Embassy in Washington
that, in effect, made the FACC/LA the branch office for Louisiana
of the French Trade Commission in Houston.
South Louisiana has access not only to the continental United States
but aloso to Central and South America.
