The FNCCI was created in 1985 and immediately took advantage of the sustained support of the French business community. Being a representative of the organized private sector, the members enjoy a forum for the exchange of their ideas and the promotion of their bilateral relations. Today, the FNCCI represents more than 172 members 40% of which are French companies and 60% Nigerian companies.
| |
To guarantee this specificity, this private organization, established by local law, is independent of all public institution. It is independently financed. A third of its resources comes from membership subscriptions while two thirds come from its activities. It is headed by a board of directors, half of which are French businessmen while the other half is Nigerian. (see "Team," "Board of Directors").

| |
That is to represent our members’ interests and objectives before the government and the federal agencies.
| |
| For this reason, |
-
We organize seminars, business luncheons, with the view to assess economic opportunities and the political climate of the country.
-
We report on these deliberations by sending our publications to the economic and political decision makers. These publications report our position as an agent of the organized private sector.
-
We equally represent them in France during the country days, in order to find business opportunities and partners.
| |
| To inform |
| |
We keep our members informed about activities, events, economic and trade news. Our position as intermediary between France and Nigeria gives us access to a lot of varied information, which we appropriately transmit to the companies.
| |
We provide them guidance in their approach and questions about Nigeria through a network of local players, which includes Chambers of Commerce, the French Economic Mission, the professional associations and our members.
| |
Our two publications, the Partners magazine and the Flash-Letter respectively present to our members a summary of events organized and the schedule of future events and business opportunities.
