The 17th annual Concours des Vins du Victoria is proudly organised by the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

This year, judging will take place on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 November. For the first time, the Concours will welcome a group of eight young French sommeliers who topped France’s annual competition for sommeliers students.

The judging panel will be led by renowned Rhône Valley winemaker Michel Chapoutier.

This year, 8 classes will be judged:

   
  • Sparkling Wine - Vintage or NV (white / rosé / red)
  • 2007 White Aromatic Class (Riesling / Sauvignon Blanc / Viognier / Pinot Gris / Gewurztraminer)
  • 2006 Chardonnay
  • 2007 Rosé
  • 2006 Pinot Noir
  • 2005 Shiraz
  • 2005 Merlot
  • 2005 Cabernet and Cabernet Blends

The Awards Presentation and Wine Tasting Evening will take place at Sofitel Melbourne on Wednesday 21 November, commencing at 5.30pm for winemakers and their guests and at 6.00pm for the general public. This event offers the opportunity to taste all the wines entered in the show, whilst indulging in superb French cheese and charcuterie. It is also a showcase of the diversity and quality of unique Victorian wines from over 120 boutique and large vineyards. You can now buy your tickets for the Awards Night!
